Paint Technician – SMART Repair / On Wheels required to join a leading luxury department based in Ryton on Dunsmore on an ongoing contract paying £ per hour (PAYE).
Our client is a world-leading automotive manufacturer of prestige and high-valued motor vehicles. They are known for innovation, excellence, and iconic brands.
Seeking an experienced Paint Technician – SMART Repair / On Wheels for an ongoing, rolling contract with potential long-term or permanent opportunities.
The role involves working on bespoke, high-specification vehicles, focusing on quality, precision, and skill in tasks like panel preparation, masking, on-wheel paint rectification, blow-ins, and smart repairs to showcase luxury models.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Whole vehicle paint rectification on wheels
- Paint inspection on new vehicles
- Spray painting with various techniques
- Blending, blow-ins, and smart repairs
- Working with various paints: solid, two-pack, metallic, pearlescent, matte, and special paints
- Minor dent repair, de-nibbing, mopping, polishing
- Full process from prep, paint, to polish and smart repairs
The Ideal Candidate:
- City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification
- Experience with prototype and high-end cars desirable
- Flexible working hours, shifts, and overtime
- Ability to travel between sites
- Knowledge of H&S and environmental procedures
- Full UK driving license (max 6 points)
Working hours: 36 hours/week, 3-shift rotation (early, late, night)
Pay rates: £ per hour (standard), uplifted to £ per hour via Umbrella PAYE
Note: Positions are inside IR35; pay includes assignment rate, holiday pay, and payroll admin costs.
