DP World is currently recruiting an Operations Supervisor to join our fast-paced site based in Hinckley. In this role, you will oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve issues that arise during your shift.

16:00-00:30
Requirement to work one Sunday every 4 weeks (08:00-16:30) with a rest day in the week.

About the role:

  • Take responsibility for all on-shift Health, Safety, and Environmental issues, including full safety incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure all employees understand the importance of safe working practices and adhere to site H&S procedures.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions for issues impacting the successful achievement of departmental KPIs, while specifying process improvements to enhance operational performance.
  • Represent the department at internal and external customer meetings. Communicate shift issues and performance at team briefings, and attend team board reviews and board walks.
  • Manage workforce resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principles, including the implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
  • Drive company absence control procedures to support high attendance levels and address all personnel matters on shift in line with company policy.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of accurate Standard Work documentation.
  • Regularly audit employees against standards to drive process consistency and use findings to coach employees and team leaders, reinforcing a zero-tolerance approach to process deviation.
  • Identify departmental training needs using company training processes (training matrix, gap analysis, to maximise employee versatility.
  • Ensure all training is captured and signed off appropriately.
  • Drive departmental quality objectives. Carry out and complete PPS activities and Root Cause Analysis for premium freight, scrap costs, or stock losses.
  • Support production with engineering changes, production trials, model changes, and pilot builds.
  • Assist in the development of concepts for formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts, working with the Solutions team as required.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to help shape and deliver organisational vision, operations strategy, and workforce planning.
  • Support the translation of strategy into actionable steps across the business, enabling growth through organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and operations planning.
  • Supervise operations and employee productivity while fostering a highly inclusive culture where team members can thrive and organisational goals are achieved.
  • Ensure effective onboarding, professional development, and retention.
  • Your Key Skills:

  • Two or more years’ experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Excellent leadership skills, with integrity and resilience
  • Understanding of business planning
