We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Web Designer to join the Online Grocery team! As the Lead Web Designer, you will be part of the fastest-growing business within Asda and a leader in online grocery.

Reporting to the Digital Campaigns Manager, this role focuses on artworking creative and implementing on-brand promotional graphics for the Grocery website across all devices. You will also manage junior designers within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Create optimized promotional web graphics for the Grocery website across desktop, mobile, tablet, and apps, following best practices.
  • Use coding knowledge to publish accurate graphics on the site in line with the funding plan.
  • Perform quality checks and proofreading as needed.
  • Work with junior designers to challenge briefs, drive innovation, and analyze creative performance.
  • Manage priorities and tasks within the team.
  • Proactively solve problems.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure implementation of at least 99% for supplier-funded media.

About you

  • Design-related qualification post-GCSE.
  • Experience producing web graphics across devices.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator.
  • Ability to hand code HTML.
  • Knowledge of CSS and designing fully responsive pages.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Understanding of web standards and browser compatibility.
  • Some UX knowledge.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce a high volume of banners.
