Job Description

DB2 DBA

Fully remote

12-month contract

£450/day overall assignment rate to umbrella

Working with a financial services client who are looking for a DB2 DBA, this will not be mainframe focused but LUW.

DB2 DBA, key responsibilities:

  • Manage and test disaster recovery procedures; restore databases using DB2 tools; ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
  • Design and maintain automated backup strategies
  • Monitor and validate backup jobs
  • Implement access controls and encryption
  • Manage user roles and permissions
  • Address vulnerabilities and conduct audits.
  • Optimise queries and indexing, tune memory and configuration settings, resolve locking and resource contention issues.
  • Continuously monitor system health; use DB2 tools for performance analysis; adjust workloads and configurations proactively.
