Job Description

Energy and Carbon Project Lead (Commercial Property Focus)
Salary: £49,500 – £52,835 (P3 band, upper end includes performance-related pay)
Start Date: Conditional offer allows start within 2-3 weeks
Location: Hybrid (on-site typically one day per week)
Mileage: 45p per mile for site visits
Benefits: 17% pension contribution, flexible hours, strong team culture

Panoramic Associates are supporting a local authority to recruit an Energy and Carbon Project Lead to oversee sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across their commercial property estate. This is a strategic role focused on project delivery, lifecycle planning, and technical leadership on carbon reduction schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead building-related energy and carbon projects across the operational estate

  • Act as subject matter expert on sustainability and building systems

  • Oversee lifecycle maintenance, budgeting, and procurement for energy schemes

  • Support contract management

  • Review energy-related business cases and ensure compliance with legislation and the council's Energy Strategy

  • Identify and deliver efficiency and cost-saving opportunities across the estate

Candidate Requirements:

  • Background in Environmental, Engineering, Building Services, or Construction

  • Experience with sustainability and building management systems

  • Understanding of contract management processes

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach

  • Cultural fit is key – technical skills can be developed if needed
