Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced CAD Operator to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in various projects, translating design concepts and specifications into precise visual representations. Proven, demonstrable experience in the field is an essential requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models from initial concepts, sketches, and specifications.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and design intent.
  • Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design specifications before submission.
  • Manage and organise drawing files and project documentation efficiently.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of CAD software advancements and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design department.

Required Skills & Experience

  • MUST HAVE demonstrable, extensive experience as a CAD Operator in relevant industries such as engineering, architecture, manufacturing, or construction.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, MicroStation). Please specify software preference if applicable.
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical drawing conventions.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively to meet project deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with 3D modelling and rendering.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles, if relevant.
