RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking several Compound Operatives (Compound Drivers) to join our dedicated team. Our client is renowned for their comprehensive vehicle services, including storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. We invite you to join our compound team to help us maintain and enhance their top-notch service quality.

  • Position: Compound Operative (Compound Driver)
  • Type: Temp to Perm
  • Working Hours: 37.5hours per week. Monday-Friday. 2x shift rotation 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
  • Salary: £12.02 per hour. Overtime and Unsociable hours at an Increased rate.

About the role?

Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Site Logistics Manager and Compound Supervisor, you will be required to carry out all vehicle movements within the site correctly and as efficiently as possible.

Key responsibilities of the Role:

  • To carry out all vehicle movements within the site.
  • To locate and move the correct vehicle to the correct location.
  • To pull the correct vehicles for loads, ready for dispatch.
  • To comply with the correct parking procedures and site speed limits
  • To complete all relevant paperwork and report any discrepancies following basic visual inspections on vehicles.
  • To carry out storage and maintenance checks.
  • To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.

The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.

About you?

  • To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
  • To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
  • The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles
  • The ideal candidate will have a level headed approach. This is required when driving vehicles to ensure the safety of yourself & your colleagues.
  • The ideal candidate will have basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
