Were looking for multi-skilled maintenance engineers, to join a renowned British appliance manufacturer with a rich heritage spanning almost years. Joining the team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, youll be responsible for services and repairs, to maintain all plant and machinery to keep production running smoothly. There will also be occasions where youll be required to install new plant and machinery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend breakdowns as requested, assess cause, strip down and determine best method of repair
  • Install replacement components or carry out repairs using lathes, cutting/grinding machinery, welding equipment etc.
  • Check tolerances/clearances during re-assembly and test all equipment for effective and safe operation following repair
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance checks to a pre-determined schedule
  • Assess requirements for repair/replacement and, in conjunction with management, determine the best time for repairs to be carried out
  • Attend to equipment faults in response to requests from management as a result of machinery malfunctioning (e.g. not producing to dimensions) and carry out adjustments or repairs as necessary
  • Utilise hydraulic & pneumatic drawings for fault finding purposes
  • Where necessary, identify appropriate replacement parts using manufacturer specifications, catalogues, ordering from maintenance office
  • Ensure all equipment conforms to relevant health and safety legislation after repair. Strictly adhere to safe working practices when repairing machinery, entering confined spaces, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate isolation and key exchange procedures are carried out
  • Complete job ticket descriptions and report as required

The Offer

Pay £18.08ph plus shift allowance which is £1.31

Shifts Mornings, Afternoons, Nights

Mornings
6am 2pm (Monday to Thursday)
6am 1pm (Friday)

Afternoons
2pm 10pm (Monday to Thursday)
1pm 8pm (Friday)

If working nights, hours are as follows
10pm 6am (Monday to Thursday)
8pm 3am (Friday)
