Job Description

Inventory ControllerHaydock, WA11 9THMonday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00 (30-minute unpaid break)£13.42 per hourTemporary to PermanentJoin a leading organisation at the heart of the UKs pharmaceutical and healthcare supply chain. As an Inventory Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of essential medical products. This position is based in a well-structured, temperature-controlled environment, which includes ambient, chilled, and freezer zones.A keen eye for detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to maintaining high standards are essential. All candidates must pass a DBS check and a drug and alcohol test prior to starting.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inventory counts (approximately 160) to ensure stock accuracy
  • Conduct pallet quality checks and assist with relabelling activities
  • Lock and release stock using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Complete 100% checks on large contract orders
  • Support periodic inventory (PI) counts and stock investigations
  • Organise and inspect pallets designated for disposal
  • Carry out Goods-In and frozen stock allocation checks
  • Generate capacity reports and assist with systemic checks
  • Log and investigate damaged stock
  • Provide cover for the Inventory Analyst during holidays and sickness

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar inventory or warehouse role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ideally Manhattan
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow set processes accurately
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work in cold storage areas when needed
  • Positive can-do attitude

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience operating a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) truck – in-house training available
  • Experience using a PPT (Powered Pallet Truck) – in-house training available
