Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an HVAC Electrician to support our manufacturing areas in and around Berkeley, MO.
Position Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair and rework electrical and/or electronic systems related to machinery, plant facilities, and associated electrical/electronic components and/or specialized equipment such as power supplies, controllers, building equipment (including HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration)), and automated building controls
- Use technical knowledge, existing procedures or develop new procedures to diagnose and correct system and component malfunctions to achieve optimum operation efficiency
- Modify, test and calibrate pneumatic, electrical or electronic systems or components including interactive and electromechanical components and adaptive computer system machine controls
- Develop and establish methods to accomplish required maintenance, repair, retrofit, or modification of equipment and machinery
- Experience in troubleshooting of AC and DC Drives, servo systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Experience in high/low pressure chillers, refrigeration systems, direct fired make-up air units, and Data Center Environmental Systems
- Diagnose electrical systems using various test equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot direct digital controls (DDC) variable air volume systems (VAVs)
- Understand ladder diagrams, schematics, relay logic and motor controls wiring
- Knowledge of personal computers (PC) and software including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work safely in a production environment that at times includes high noise levels, confined spaces and heights over thirty feet
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in HVAC
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Experience with electrical systems including National Electrical Code, basic relay logic and high voltage systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
- Vocational/Trade School degree or certification
- Experience with protective relay testing
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a โU.S. Personโ as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. โU.S. Personโ includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Additional Information
- The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
- This is an hourly position governed by the IBEW Collective Bargaining agreement.
- New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.
