Job Description
The Focus of the Role:
As our Sub Editor on TV Listings, you’ll bring with you an excellent knowledge of TV, as well as a meticulous commitment to accuracy. You’ll be collating information from different sources and in different formats, whilst prioritise your workload, ensuring pages are ready for press on time.
The function of the role is to check and edit the content of each TV Listings page across both TVChoice and Total TV Guide.
This is a part time role (2 days per week) and requires the availability/flexibility to follow the team’s shift pattern during pull-up periods – typically over bank holidays and in the extended period leading up to Christmas.
This role also comes with a requirement of one day per week in the London office (Wednesday).
Our Team:
We’re a friendly, passionate, and close-knit team of around eight people who genuinely love what we do – bringing TV listings to life!
As a part-time team, we pride ourselves on being supportive, collaborative, and flexible, with working patterns that adapt throughout the year to suit our team members' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sub-edit pages and pick of the days/captions across both magazines.
- Select pictures for Pick of the Days and research TV programmes.
- Write and subedit any supporting copy.
- Ensure adherence to individual brand style guides.
- Use creativity to freshen up the pages whilst maintaining their appeal to existing readers.
- Each page delivered and sub-edited to a high level of accuracy, and to deadline.
- Make editorially agreed changes to pages and source files on screen in InDesign.
- Assist the Head of Listings in reading and clearing final proofs to press, as necessary.
- Assist the Head of Listings in keeping each issue on schedule by subbing a set number of pages, as well as completing other tasks over an agreed time.

- Desirable to have a working knowledge of Monday.com.
- Strong ability to work in a team and independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to accuracy of grammar, spelling, language, tone and sense.
- Good eye for detail and strong ability to fact check.
- Ability to work and communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, working to deadlines and adapting to last-minute changes.
