We’re currently looking for a Bank Teaching Assistants to join our team. The successful candidate will support our students as needed across the two schools.
What is bank/casual work?
Our bank staff usually cover staff sickness, holiday, and busy periods. They can choose which days they want to work, providing great flexibility.
Part of the Aurora Group, Aurora Eccles and White House schools in Quidenham, Norwich provide day placements for students aged 6 years and above, primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.
With small classes, a maximum of students and a minimum of 3 staff per class, you can focus on each student\’s needs. There is a full clinical team onsite to support at all times, and you will have the support of an experienced and stable SLT.

The Role:
The purpose of the Teaching Assistant is to support children with their learning and care while in school and other settings. You will develop and deliver personalized learning, work with colleagues to support pupils with routines, transitions, and positive behaviour management. A tailored approach ensures every student can reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. The Teaching Assistant will also support the Class Teacher with the day-to-day running of the class.

Key Duties:
- Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy learning.
- Promote independence and personal development, maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
- Contribute to providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities supporting a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Support the Class Teacher in daily classroom operations.
- Adapt to the varying needs of the school to ensure smooth operations.
- Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual development.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.

Skills and Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English Language qualification at minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
- Level 2 – 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Knowledge and experience of pupils with SEMH, ASD.
Due to the location, candidates must hold a full UK driving license and have access to their own vehicle.
