Job Description
Our client, a leading organisation based in Chippenham, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stores Person with a Forklift licence to join their team. As a Stores Person, you will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's stock control system.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor inventory levels and make informed decisions on stock replenishment based on guidance from the computerised stock system.
- Organise and maintain existing inventory, ensuring it is easily and safely accessible.
- Keep accurate records of stock deliveries, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good condition.
- Develop efficient systems and processes for stock control.
- Accept deliveries of stock, ensuring they are not damaged and all items ordered are present.
- Facilitate the return of faulty goods and products.
- Ensure the safety and security of the stock.
- Enforce health and safety rules within the storeroom and provide training to staff on proper practises and emergency procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience managing an Engineering Stores
- Forklift licence
- Confident and capable individual with problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Proficient in using IT systems and spreadsheets.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety at Work regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good mathematical abilities.
