Role Purpose

Cinch Logistics Planners are responsible for developing and executing efficient plans for the movement of vehicles. They coordinate, track, and monitor the supply chain process to ensure customer orders are filled on time. Planners also analyse data and design strategies to optimize deliveries, reduce cost, and improve operational efficiency. The main purpose is to plan the most optimised and cost-efficient plated driver\’s day, ensuring all vehicles are delivered within a customer driven timeframe and within a working time directive framework.

Logistics Planner Duties

  • Ability to develop and implement cost-effective logistics plans
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding logistical issues
  • Maintain and update logistics databases
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensure all work is planned in accordance with Customer Service level Agreements.
  • Ensure all the jobs/movements on the system are planned and allocated to the available driver workforce.
  • Ensure that the work planned to assist their Recruitment process in that it is efficient and productive to assist in the full training of all new drivers and Inspection Quality Training.
  • To be aware of client’s requirements when allocating drivers (time restraints, excess mileage, time windows and expectations, EPOD requirements)
  • Inform Customer Service of any problems and or delays
  • Respond quickly to real-time events such as absence and last-minute requests
  • To be aware of individual driver’s skills and abilities, balance driver hours (WTD) and balance pay for drivers.
  • Search for extra drivers who are available to cover additional jobs/movements
  • Re-plan the job movements, where required, due to failures, aborts, breakdowns, etc.
  • Such other duties as may reasonably be requested
