We are seeking a Mechanical Design & Commissioning Engineer to work for a small family run machinery manufacturer in Ashford. **** Applications from recently graduate engineer will also be considered ***** This appointment involves: – All aspects of mechanical design for heavy machinery, extrusion tooling and process plant – Testing new designs and applications both on in-house development equipment and at customer facilities – Producing reports on all aspects of equipment performance and making recommendations on potential improvements – At the direction of the Technical Director, undertaking projects to implement new and improved technology – Visiting customers’ premises for the purpose of commissioning new equipment – Provision of technical documentation The successful applicant will be working on production equipment much of which, being customer specific, is for one off manufacture. They will be expected to travel to commission machines and provide technical support to customers worldwide on average 3 – 5 times per year, for between 2 and 5 weeks each time. This is a full time position of 37 hours per week, working 08.00 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and 08.00 to 13.00 Friday.
