We\’re seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our client, a leading aerospace and defence organisation in Yeovil. You will be to designing and maintaining project schedules for Customer Support and Training initiatives, you’ll also play a crucial role in coordinating project timelines, analysing performance, and driving corrective actions. Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Development and Implementation
Create and implement project schedules aligned with contractual requirements, delivery dates, and financial baselines.
Coordinate and integrate interfaces across multiple sub-projects, applying earned value techniques where applicable.
Maintain schedule baselines and communicate changes effectively.
Quality Assurance and Data Integrity
Collaborate with Functions and Project Teams to ensure accurate project schedules and SAP Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Identify process improvements to enhance data integrity.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
Monitor project cost and schedule performance, conducting variance analysis.
Assess forecast changes and identify threats early.
Prepare and present monthly performance reports.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with cost centre managers to manage Function-specific milestones.
Coordinate customer change proposals and assess cost impacts.
Contingency Management:
Control contingency reserves and align updates with risk registers.
Requirements
- Comprehensive project planning experience across varying project complexities.
- Proficiency in project controls, methodologies, and Microsoft Project.
Nice to Have:
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Flexibility to contribute to other areas, such as business reports.
This role is site based in Yeovil
Monday to Friday 37 hour per week
One year temporary contract with the potential to extend
This role is subject to a BPSS security check
