Our amazing #TeamSBCSGalashiels in the Borders are looking for a friendly, patient and caring new colleague on a permanent part-time (up to 35 hours per week) basis.
The Role
You\’ll become part of a close knit, dedicated team who supports a young gentleman with complex care needs, in his own home 24 hours per day. He lives an active life and regularly participates in various activities within the community such as swimming where he goes several times a week. As well as enjoying music in both the home setting and in the community, he has a specially adapted bike that he can enjoy trips out and about with the support of staff. There\’s never a dull moment, every day is different! Being a confident swimmer is essential for this role as the person we support goings swimming multiple times a week.
About You
For this opportunity, we\’re ideally looking for someone who have experience in caring or supportive role with the ability to lone work and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge. However, the successful candidates will undergo training on a detailed and specific support plan devised by a multi disciplinary team.

- The ability to cook
- Confidence in the use of computers
- A valid drivers licence isn\’t essential for this role but it would be beneficial
Shift Patterns
We have various services in the Galashiels area including 24 hour services and community support services. We operate 7 days per week 365 days a year.
Shifts vary dependent on the service so there is opportunities for experienced staff to work in a 24 hour service or less experienced in service where shifts typically start from around 8am to no later than 8pm most days.
