Job Description:

Our client, a growing digital solutions company, is looking for an experienced BMS Project Manager to help deliver a series of critical upgrades to their clients’ Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure. As a BMS Project Manager, you’ll manage multiple projects, valued between £1–2 million, as part of a 3–4 year rolling programme. Your role will involve driving delivery on time and budget, shaping and growing the team for future demands. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing projects for public sector or central government clients, a qualification in construction or engineering, and confidence in handling contract changes, scope, and budget management.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver projects aligned with outcomes and policies.
  2. Acting as the primary escalation point for clients and end users.
  3. Ensuring project benefits are achieved with proper approvals and assurance.
  4. Holding team members accountable to deadlines, quality, and safety standards.
  5. Monitoring project controls and tracking progress against milestones and budgets.
  6. Managing project resources effectively.
  7. Overseeing project partners and maintaining relationships.
  8. Identifying and managing risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and experience required:

  1. Experience managing projects for public sector or central government clients.
  2. Experience handling contract changes, budgets, and scope management.
  3. Familiarity with standardised project processes.
  4. Recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2).
  5. Background in construction or engineering, ideally with NVQ Level 5, HNC/HND or higher.
