We currently have a Permitting Coordinator position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Environmental Performance. Based in Exeter, this is a hybrid role.Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,000 – £34,462 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
The Permitting Coordinator role is to manage Environment Agency permits for wastewater discharges affected by Capital schemes, ensuring that these permits remain accurate and that South West Water can comply with them.
To liaise with the Environment Agency over South West Water’s Water Industry National Environment Programme.
What you\’ll be doing:
- To plan and organise the environmental permitting process for all relevant Engineering projects from concept stage to completion
- To collect accurate site data and provide this to the Environment Agency for discharge permit updates
- To provide technical support for the interface between Engineering project managers and the Environment Agency in terms of project delivery and key environmental water quality interests
- To track delivery, permitting and annual Environment Agency sign-off of all Water Quality projects on the Water Industry National Environment Programme
- To ensure that records relating to environmental permitting for Engineering projects are effectively administered
- To provide general support to the Environmental Permitting Team as needed
What we are looking for:
- Experience managing a large number of tasks at a time
- Experience working on own initiative, and as part of a team
- Technical experience in the field of waste water / civil engineering
- Ability to co-ordinate and track multiple deliverables and report on these
- A good understanding of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Awareness of relevant environmental regulation / environmental permits
