About the role

We are looking to recruit for Social Care Worker for our Care Home at Windsor House, Oswestry, Shropshire. Windsor House is a registered care home for 10 adults with learning and/ or physical disabilities who require support for all aspects of their daily living needs, including personal care, meal preparation as well as shopping and social activities.

The aim of the role is to deliver an outstanding service which is person centred in a way that enhances the lives of people with profound learning disabilities offering choice, ensuring the people have a voice and their wishes and decisions are respected.

The role is permanent opportunity working 37.5 hours a week covering a variety ofshifts on a rotational basis, including some weekends,bank holidays and sleep ins.

About You

We are looking for staff who want to make a difference, the successful candidates must be committed to inclusion and engagement and ensure that the people they are supporting have a full, active, meaningful lifestyle, one that they have chosen for themselves. In addition, the successful candidates will be confident to work alone, and it is essential to have a good understanding and working experience of learning disabilities, autism and mental health.

We are looking for highly motivated individual who would like to join our team in order to deliver good quality service to vulnerable adults. You will be responsible for looking after service users and supporting them with their daily requirements.

Candidates need experience of supporting adults with challenging behaviour, demonstrate a level of resilience whilst at work, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with customers. Throughout this role you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with customers to de-escalate incidents and create a safe educational environment.

Punctuality and reliability are essential to meet the requirements of the role, the shifts are early mornings, late finishes, weekend working and waking nights. You may be required to work the occasional night shift when the service is needed

Working in a regulated service it is essential that all mandatory training is up to date and staff have the skills to support in challenging situations. Specialist training tailored to meet the needs of customers will be provided. Candidates will preferably hold a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and it is important that the successful candidate understands health and social care legislation and CQC fundamental standards.
