We are seeking to recruit a Technical Technician (Entry Level or Qualified Level) for 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, on a permanent basis. The role involves providing technical support to staff and students, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

This position primarily supports practical work in the Design and Technology department, including woodworking, metalwork, and design and manufacture. Suitable qualifications and experience may include mechanical engineering, joinery/woodworking, metalworking, or mechanical maintenance.

Applicants should have a good education, equivalent to SCQF Level 6, and demonstrate a commitment to professional development. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to technical workshops is essential.

The candidate should be flexible, able to work independently and as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality. Good interpersonal skills are also required.

Additional Information

This post is considered regulated work with vulnerable children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG check before employment is confirmed.

Applicants with recent residence outside the UK will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities.
