Wawne Primary School is a small village school and we are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. We pride ourselves on our welcoming, family atmosphere and our commitment to helping every child thrive.

This post is to provide support in our Foundation Unit. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the class teachers, SENDCo and other members of staff to ensure the child’s individual needs are met.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Ideally holds an NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Has experience of supporting children.
  • Is enthusiastic, self‑motivated and has a good sense of humor.
  • Is proactive in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment.

Hours of work

Monday to Thursday, 12:30 pm – 3:45 pm; Friday, 8:45 am – 3:45 pm (including 30 min for lunch). Total 21½ hours per week.

This is a term‑time only position, starting in January 2026 and currently fixed term until 31 Aug 2027, with a review planned during the Summer of 2027 term.
