Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation\’s leading sugar and renewable energy company. We are Australia\’s largest raw sugar manufacturer and exporter. We also generate green energy and produce much of Queensland\’s BioEthanol. Our joint ventures, Sugar Australia and NZ Sugar, market a wide range of products under the familiar brands CSR and Chelsea.
Wilmar Sugar owns and operates eight sugar mills in North Queensland. Our mills – located in the Herbert, Burdekin, Proserpine and Plane Creek regions – operate 24/7 during the crushing season, which typically runs from June to November. Outside of the crush, our teams are involved in an intensive repair, maintenance and innovation program to ensure our sugar mills continue to be safe and reliable, and among the most efficient in the world.
Position Vacancy
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our Herbert Region Work Execution Team. This is a friendly, fast paced environment with a position that will engage with a range of work teams in an industrial environment.
The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing detailed schedules to execute the defined asset maintenance strategies and capital projects. Through effective resource allocations the scheduler ensures full utilization of internal labour and manages engagement of external resources to manage peaks in demand and specialist skills
The main duties of the position are:-
- Develop weekly maintenance schedules in conjunction with the Work Execution Superintendents, Work Co-Ordinator\’s, Trades People and Asset Management team as required.
- Apply the relevant scheduling processes to prioritise and allocate work based on risk as defined by the Asset Management team
- Through application of scheduling processes and systems ensure equipment, tools, parts and personnel availability (including production) to achieve the developed schedule.
- Conduct relevant contractor management checks for contractors engaged in schedule to ensure compliance with company EHS requirements
- Develop and publish a 6 week work schedule and labour profiles for communication to site stakeholders
- Optimise resource utilisation through sequencing of tasks utilising regional labour pools
- Work with the Asset management team to sequence the annual maintenance shutdown balancing risk resource levelling and program milestones
- Communicate weekly work schedules and ensure that all relevant parties are notified.
- Minimise disruptions to work due to scheduling and facilitate longer term scheduling horizons
- Arrange and facilitate weekly scheduling meetings with site stakeholders to lock in future work
The successful applicant will have:
- Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- A structured and process driven work style
- Knowledge in SAP/ PM experience is highly desirable
Desired requirements are:
- A minimum 2 years maintenance planning or scheduling experience in a heavy industry environment
- Sugar industry experience, understanding of both raw sugar milling processes and milling maintenance practices.
- Experience with the use of Prometheus.
- Ideally will be multi-disciplined with trade or engineering qualifications
