We currently offer a Water Treatment Technician (Flexible) position based in Camelford. This is a full-time, permanent role with a starting salary of £25,756 per annum. After a successful competency review, your salary will increase to £28,747, plus a supplement, bringing your total gross salary to £35,847.04 annually. The role includes support through a Water Treatment Technician levels 1 to 5 progression scheme, with potential earnings up to £33,101.21 PA (basic) and £40,201.25 PA (total gross), along with overtime, company benefits, and rewards.
Progression Scheme:
As part of your employment, you will enroll in a bespoke progression scheme covering qualifications, skills, and experience to meet the requirements of the nationally recognized Competent Technician Scheme. The company will fully fund up to £7,280 for industry-recognized qualifications and licenses, including a Level 3 Water Treatment Operations Diploma.
About the role:
As our Water Treatment Technician (Flexible), you will ensure the effective operation of our water treatment site, plant, and equipment daily. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, a team player, and committed to providing high-quality water by maintaining water quality and quantity standards.
This role requires out-of-hours standby as part of an operational rotation to maintain the sites. A company vehicle will be provided for travel within the operational area during working hours and standby shifts.
Shift Rotation:
The team operates on a 5-week rolling shift pattern, which you will need to be committed to from day one. The pattern includes various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and standby duties, with specific schedules discussed during onboarding.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining potable water quality and quantity within standards, considering licenses and distribution system requirements.
- Handling and storing chemicals safely and effectively, following company procedures.
- Performing operational maintenance on equipment and instrumentation as scheduled.
- Taking water quality samples and conducting on-site analysis as required.
- Completing operational procedures and records accurately.
- Carrying out routine and non-routine tasks to operational standards.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and site cleanliness.
- Reporting abnormal events in accordance with procedures to the appropriate managers.
What we are looking for:
- Good skills in Maths, English, and IT.
- Understanding of COSHH, Lone Working procedures, and Basic First Aid.
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills in complex, high-pressure situations.
- A Full UK Drivers Licence.
- NVQ 2 in Operating Process Plant or HNC in Water Operations, or working towards it.
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, or Science.
- Experience in Water Treatment or similar processes.
