Join our Council as the Health and Safety Team Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in helping us maintain a safe and compliant environment for all. You will provide expert consultancy advice, guidance, and support to directors, managers, headteachers, Elected Members, and Governors on health and safety standards and practices.

As the Corporate Safety Adviser Team Leader, you will:

  • Take professional responsibility for health and safety matters across the Council.
  • Manage and direct the Health and Safety Team, including recruitment, development, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and management systems.
  • Oversee significant investigations and liaise with legal, insurance, and risk management specialists.
  • Design and deliver health and safety training and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Monitor compliance through audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Represent the Council at external and internal meetings, presenting reports and professional advice.
