Role Description
Join Our Team at Newcastle College\’s Construction Academy.
Do you have a passion to develop the skills and talents of our students to succeed in their journey through education, training, or employment?
Can you lead a team of professional Construction colleagues and demonstrate our college values as a role model for the department?
We\’re looking for someone like you to play a key role in supporting the Head of Curriculum to continuously improve what we do, and how we do it.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Curriculum in managing the section to ensure performance aligns with College key performance indicators.
- Line manage direct reports to ensure high performance within the curriculum area.
- Support the Head of Curriculum in delivering a high standard of learner experience.
- Lead the implementation of industry standards and College requirements, including quality and health and safety.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality learning and assessment activities that promote learner progress.
Requirements
- Qualified to a minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Drylining/Plastering, or Roofing.
- Knowledge and experience of Construction industry practices and Health and Safety regulations.
- Hold a post-16 teaching qualification, and be able to teach to a grade 2 (good) standard or higher.
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or be willing to achieve this within a set timeframe.
- Experience in curriculum design, innovation, planning, delivery, and assessment.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for effective task management and quality processes.
- Proficient IT skills to utilize College reporting systems effectively.
- Strong personal organization and ability to manage workload to meet deadlines.
