Our local authority client in Merseyside is seeking to appoint an experienced Contaminated Land Officer. The key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice and support to the Planning, Transportation, and Building Surveying Services, as well as other Council Service areas, in the identification, assessment, and remediation of potentially contaminated land.
- Developing and updating the City’s contaminated land strategy and ensuring its ongoing implementation.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of a Contaminated Land Information Management System, utilizing GIS databases and incorporating historical data and relevant information sources.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications and extensive technical knowledge and practical experience in contaminated land and environmental protection. They should be capable of undertaking inspections and complex complaint investigations.
This role is not fully remote; hybrid working arrangements are available. The exact number of days required on-site can be discussed during interviews. The position is full-time, but part-time applications are also welcome. Pay rates start from £45 per hour.
