An opportunity has emerged for a Senior Mechanical Engineer seeking to advance their skills and career in Mechanical Engineering at a higher level. This role offers the chance to collaborate with and lead mechanical engineers on projects, system and equipment design, and engineering consulting in a rapidly growing sector of the business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development and growth of the mechanical engineering team and enhance competence across all company sectors.
  2. Lead the primary design of industrial mechanical systems and specify requirements for detailed design and construction for both internal and external clients.
  3. Contribute to the advancement of mechanical safety initiatives throughout the business.
  4. Oversee and manage mechanical engineering activities for major and minor projects, ensuring they are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
  5. Understand customer needs and requirements to develop new work streams.
  6. Ensure all installations and applications meet customer needs and adhere to safety standards.
  7. Collaborate with engineers and partners involved in design, effectively implementing these designs.
  8. Conduct quality and performance assessments on new mechanical projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  2. 5+ years experience within a similar role
  3. Experience in both mechanical design and/or fabrication for both structural steel and process pipework
  4. A thorough understanding of ASME B31.3 and a working understanding of the various manufacturing UK and global standards relating to the fabrication of Pressure Systems, Lifting Equipment, Storage Tanks, Structural Steelwork, and Process Pipework.
  5. Practical knowledge of P&IDs
  6. Practical understanding of structural inspection
  7. Experience working in a project–based environment
  8. Proven experience leading teams of technical professionals
  9. Excellent personal and interpersonal skills such as organisation, communication, and attention to detail.

Role Details:

  1. Based remotely (at home) with UK project–based assignment work as required
  2. Frequent periods of travel for project and site work
  3. Occasional overseas travel for meetings, site visits, and project work
  4. Willingness and ability to travel to and work from site facilities and offices across the UK.
