Chief Executive Officer at Polyblend UK Ltd (A Longacre Group Company).
Polyblend produce pigmented PVC and acrylic plastisol and colour dispersions products which are used in multiple markets including textiles, flooring, wallpaper and moulding applications.
We are looking to recruit a Product Development Technician at our site in Widnes. This role requires someone with existing experience working in a production laboratory wishing to build on their skills and experience to develop their career.
The role: –
· Colour matching of new products to customer specifications.
· Formulate new products in line with customer requirements.
· Oversee production trials of new products.
· Laboratory testing of products to ensure customer application requirements are met.
· Manufacture of trial samples in the laboratory for customer evaluation.
· Evaluation of new and alternative raw materials.
· Assist the QC, manufacturing and commercial teams with product-related queries.
· Work in accordance with the company’s ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications.
· Utilise the NPD project management application to record project progress.
· Work to established procedures and policies in the technical laboratory.
The person: –
· Ideally educated to A level/HNC (or equivalent) in a chemistry-related subject.
· Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment. Experience in the surface coatings or colour industries would be a major advantage.
· Ability to work using own initiative and possess a problem-solving attitude.
· Attention to detail and a desire to deliver meaningful results.
· Ability to work individually or as part of a wider team.
· Full eligibility to work in the UK.
· Experience using MS Office applications.
