As an Environment Artist, working alongside the Art Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the worlds we create delight our players with the highest quality visuals that provide the settings for memorable experiences. You have an eye for detail and composition that enables you to make environments feel believable, taking pride in all the work you and your team make. You ensure quality by supporting and mentoring the environment artist team, helping to build a healthy culture where everyone can excel.
Key Duties Include
- Work with the Art Director and Lead Environment Artist to create a cohesive and immersive game world that meets the creative and technical requirements of the project
- Create 3D models and textures of environmental assets such as buildings, terrain, vegetation, and props
- Ensure that the game environments are visually consistent and meet the established art style and technical guidelines
- Collaborate with other departments such as level design and lighting to ensure that the environment assets are optimized and integrated into the game world effectively
- Assist in developing and implementing new techniques and tools to improve the quality and efficiency of the environment art pipeline
- Stay current with the latest industry trends and techniques in environment art and share knowledge with the rest of the team
- Maintain clear communication with team members to ensure that project goals and deadlines are met
- Work closely with the Technical Artist and Engineering team to ensure that the environment assets are optimized for performance
- Participate in critiques and reviews of environment art assets to maintain a high standard of quality and ensure that they meet the needs of the game design

Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent collaboration skills, you thrive working as part of a team
- An excellent portfolio with recent examples of Environment Art
- Strong understanding of shape, form and composition
- Excellent Proficiency with 3D industry standard tools such as Maya, 3DSMax, Blender
- Excellent proficiency with surfacing tools such as Photoshop and substance painter
- Proven abilities in producing optimized 3D assets for games
Desirable
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Experience with large open-world games
- Experience with hard surface and foliage asset modelling experience
