Overview of Role

We are excited to offer a Trainee Rice Miller position at our Selby site. You will learn to lead by example, championing Health & Safety and Food Safety standards. Your responsibilities include following production plans, providing shift cover for other millers and cleaners, and supporting smooth operations.

  • Champion H&S and Food Safety
  • Understand and utilize Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Promote Sustainability
  • Understand yield performance
  • Implement and follow production plans
  • Manage Rice Lot number changes
  • Provide shift cover as needed
  • Coordinate crop changes with stakeholders
  • Use KPIs to improve performance
  • Adhere to mill cleaning schedules
  • Support Asset Care plans

  • Embed Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Support team development
  • Use KPIs and scorecards for performance tracking

The Right Person

To succeed, you should have a strong desire to learn, effectively use information, and demonstrate customer focus. Ability to work independently and in a team, with a proactive problem-solving approach, is essential. You will learn from experienced Millers, shadowing them to gain valuable insights. The role is initially day-based, Monday to Friday, progressing to a rotating 24/7 shift pattern with salary increases upon full training.
