Physical Performance Coach – Men\’s 1st Team
To work collaboratively with the Men’s First Team Physical Performance Department in the planning, delivery and monitoring of a comprehensive, holistic performance programme that optimises physical preparation and supports elite performance. The successful applicant will be a key member of a high-functioning multi-disciplinary team (MDT), contributing both in training and match environments.
Role Responsibilities
Significantly contribute to the design and delivery of individualised gym-based training programmes for First Team players, including pre-training preparation and strength/power sessions.
Assist with live monitoring and adjustment of field-based training and conditioning sessions according to player profiles and training load data.
Deliver evidence-based recovery sessions to enhance readiness and reduce injury risk.
Lead pre-training physical preparation activities to optimise performance in team sessions.
Support the physical testing and monitoring programme for First Team players and those in rehabilitation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data collected from performance testing and strength/power sessions.
Assist with the organisation and delivery of rehab-specific conditioning and individual sessions.
Support the ongoing collection and analysis of training load and profiling data.
Contribute to the communication of relevant physical performance data across the MDT.
Support on-field conditioning and matchday preparation where required.

Qualifications
Minimum undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, or a related discipline
Skills & Abilities
Significant experience working in a professional physical performance setting
Strong organisational and administrative skills
High attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Committed to professional standards and continued personal development
Skilled in using performance technologies including GPS systems, internal monitoring tools, Velocity-Based Training, and force diagnostic equipment
MSc or higher in a relevant discipline
UKSCA or ASCA (or equivalent) accreditation
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data visualisation software (e.g., Tableau)

Terms of Appointment
