Overview
Higher Level Teaching Assistant to teach in our Reception/Year 1 and Year 1/Year 2 class. This role will support us to split the children into their separate year groups for maths and phonics. There may be a need to cover a class during periods of short-term absence. When whole class cover is not required, you will provide support to raise standards of achievement for all pupils by working in class, with individuals or groups of pupils.
Responsibilities
- Support whole-class or group teaching, both from own and school planning
- Model excellent communication and liaise closely with teachers and other staff
- Demonstrate positive classroom management and adapt to the needs of the children
Qualifications and Experience
- Have the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or equivalent experience and suitable qualifications in English and Mathematics
- Be experienced in working in a primary school setting
- Be able to deliver whole-class or group teaching from own or school planning
- Have good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
