Base Location

Based in Aberdeen or Perth. Minimum attendance 3 days per week on site in Edzell, Angus.

Salary

£35,200 – £52,800 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + other benefits.

The Role

Onshore Capital Delivery team seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager to support the East Coast 400kV Overhead Line Upgrade project.

Your Responsibilities

  • Help manage a multi‑skilled project team to deliver transmission projects on cost, quality, and timescales.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and monitor project activities, communicating with stakeholders.
  • Manage work packages focusing on value and efficiency, support budget planning and financial reporting.
  • Provide input to tender packages and contract specifications, assist with tender assessments and commercial negotiations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring teams operate in line with SSE’s safety expectations.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience within construction or engineering project environments.
  • Familiarity with health and safety requirements, including C (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Understanding of NEC3 contract administration and project programming (e.g., P6).
  • Proven teamwork, enthusiasm, problem‑solving skills and proactive approach.
  • Full driving licence (required for site travel).
