We are seeking a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse to cover all schools and clinics across the Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks, and Edenbridge areas. This post offers flexible working options including full-time, part-time, or term-time hours.
Eligible Professionals
- Nurses and midwives registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). (Nursing associates are not eligible)
- Pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Paramedics and Physiotherapists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with some Saturday clinics expected.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Use of a car for work purposes
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive immunisation services to children and young people in Kent and Medway across various settings, including schools, clinics, and community venues.
- Administer vaccinations as part of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme and Staff Flu Campaign, including seasonal flu, HPV, MenACWY, Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio vaccines, and support catch-up programmes like MMR and neonatal Hepatitis B.
- Collaborate with various health and educational professionals to ensure a safe and effective immunisation service.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate immunisation sessions, ensuring high-quality care and organisational standards.
- Analyse immunisation data, implement public health strategies, and address barriers to vaccination.
- Provide information and guidance to parents, professionals, and school staff to facilitate informed decision-making and smooth immunisation sessions.
