A great opportunity has arisen to join Bury Democratic Services as the Mayors Attendant. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be at the heart of civic duties at Bury Council.
We need someone who is passionate and self-motivated to provide high-quality support to the Mayor in their ceremonial duties both in the Town Hall and in the community.
What are we looking for:
You will have experience working with members of the public and with elected members, with good organisational and diplomacy skills.
You will be able to adapt to different work styles for each ceremonial Mayor with an awareness of issues affecting local government and Mayoral protocols.
The Role:
- To act as attendant to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bury.
- To act as chauffeur to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bury.
- To provide support to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bury and the Mayoral and Member Officer.
- To undertake other civic duties as required.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week with regular attendance at engagements during weekends and evenings. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
