Principal Epitaxy Engineer – InP Photonics

Onsite | Ipswich, UK

A cutting-edge R&D facility is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the development of Indium Phosphide (InP) epitaxial growth processes for next-generation photonic devices used in telecom, data centers, and sensing technologies.

This onsite role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation in compound semiconductor materials at the core of advanced photonics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize InP epitaxial growth processes for photonic applications.
  • Ensure high material quality and consistency through collaboration with wafer and device teams.
  • Define and implement material characterization and process validation protocols.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.

  • Strong skills in data analysis, process control, and quality assurance.
