Lisburn Enterprise Organisation is a not-for-profit organisation that provides business advice and mentoring and premises to entrepreneurs wishing to start or grow their business. The opportunity has now arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Business Enterprise Manager. Job Title: Business Enterprise Manager Reporting to:Chief Executive Location: Lisburn Enterprise Centre, Ballinderry Road, Lisburn BT28 2BP Post:Full-time Permanent position, Office based Main Function of Role: The main responsibility of the role is the provision of business advice, mentoring and training to developing businesses, individuals in the process of exploring their business idea, setting up their own business and growth businesses. The Business Enterprise Manager will also be required to assist in the development of new business support initiatives for the organisation and will deputise in the absence of the Chief Executive when required. Hours of Business Office hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Occasionally, this position may involve some evening work for which time off in lieu is offered. Transport This job does entail some travel and therefore applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that will enable them to effectively undertake this role. Free parking is provided on-site. Salary £40,000 per annum Benefits 6% contributory pension Holiday Entitlement 30 days (increasing to 32 with five years service) inclusive of customary holidays observed by the Organisation Main Tasks and Duties: 1. Business Advice & Mentoring Provide tailored, one-on-one mentoring and advisory support to individuals in the process of exploring their business idea, setting up their own business, as well as to established businesses seeking to grow or improve operations. Support clients in areas including business planning, financial management, marketing strategy. Identify the unique challenges faced by each business and offer practical, actionable solutions to help them thrive. Conduct assessments of businesses to diagnose issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Guide clients through various stages of their business journey, from startup through to expansion and scaling. Deliver business start-up and business development support services, to include pre-enterprise initiatives, outreach programmes and other initiatives run by Lisburn Enterprise Organisation. – These currently include, but are not restricted to: Explore Enterprise, Go Succeed Start and Grow and MY Adviser. Ensure that programmes are delivered within agreed budgets and output targets attained. 2. Business Training & Development Support with design and delivery of training workshops, seminars and clinics to enhance the skills and knowledge of clients. Topics may include business planning, financial management, marketing, digital marketing. Recruit entrepreneurs onto our business programmes and initiatives. 3. Development of Business Support Initiatives Assist in the design and implementation of new business support initiatives to help foster entrepreneurship and business growth. Monitor and evaluate the impact of support initiatives, providing regular feedback and suggesting improvements. 4. Deputising for the Chief Executive Deputise in the absence of the Chief Executive to ensure continuity of operations and the delivery of key services. Support in the decision-making process for organisational priorities, ensuring alignment with the businesss mission and goals. Represent the organisation at meetings, forums, and external events as required. Personnel Specification We are looking to recruit a Business Enterprise Manager to work with new business start-ups, developing and growth businesses. The role will involve working in a small team environment and deputising in the absence of the Chief Executive so good communication, organisational skills and can-do attitudes are essential. This role would suit an individual who has worked in a Business Management, Consultancy, Business Mentoring, Business Advisor, Marketing, Operations or Finance role and is ambitious, confident and motivated to deliver the highest level of service to clients. Key Skills & Qualifications: Essential Criteria Relevant degree level qualification preferably Marketing, Business or finance related OR degree qualification and relevant experience in business/industry Minimum two years experience in a role providing business management, consultancy, business advice to businesses at start-up and early-stage development or a background in marketing or finance. Experience in business management, business planning, marketing or finance. Strong problem-solving skills with a practical approach to overcoming business challenges. Excellent communication, report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse business owners and stakeholders. Proven business acumen with strong commercial awareness Self-motivated with the ability to manage a range of initiatives Professional approach Ability to work to targets and deadlines Desirable Criteria Experience delivering business planning mentoring to a wide range of business sectors Experience in working within or alongside government-funded business support programmes. Experience in designing and delivering business training programs and workshopsfor new and existing businesses, with the ability to adapt content for varying levels of expertise. Business research skills Knowledge of local and regional business ecosystems, as well as an understanding of industry trends and emerging opportunities. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues facing small businesses in Northern Ireland. Experience of digital tools and platforms that support business operations (CRM, project management tools, accounting software, etc.)and updating websites.
