The Role

As a Railway Security Officer, you will provide a visible, reassuring presence across the rail network to promote passenger safety and reduce anti-social behaviour. You will patrol stations and trains, engage with the public, support vulnerable passengers, and work closely with rail staff and British Transport Police to deter crime, manage incidents, and ensure a safe travel environment for all. The Role Will Consist Of

  • Ensuring colleague safety, providing a sense of assurance for all
  • Providing a smart, visible, proactive, and engaging security presence
  • Effective conflict management, always taking control of incidents
  • Control access and egress, conducting security patrols to deter crime
  • Able to proactively and professionally engage with the public
  • Be aware of hazards and incidents, and responding appropriately
  • Providing guidance, information and directing customers as a first point of contact
  • Managing and following safety and security processes and procedures
  • Working as part of a team, building strong working relationships
