Future Farming Technician

Overview
At the cutting edge of sustainable farming and food production, G’s is an exciting and rewarding place to grow your career. As one of the UK’s largest fresh produce providers, we supply over one billion packs of healthy food every year — and we’re not slowing down.
Over the past five years, our Cambridgeshire Farms have made great strides in adopting Regenerative Agriculture practices. We’re learning how to combine these principles with intensive horticulture to improve soil health, reduce inputs, and maintain yields — all while regenerating the land.
To keep driving this progress, we’re expanding our team with a Future Farming Technician — someone who’s hands-on, curious, and passionate about the future of farming.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Play a key role in progressing our regenerative trials and innovations, with a split of time between office and field-based work.
- Build and maintain Johnson-Su bioreactors and other composting systems, helping bring microbial life back to our soils.
- Support and guide trials by working directly with growers and farm managers — from setting them up to collecting data and interpreting results.
- Help oversee and work alongside our Trials Coordinator(s) and student placements — supporting fieldwork, trial maintenance, and sample collection.
- Translate field observations and sample data into practical insights that drive real change in how we grow.
- Help build visibility and understanding of regenerative practices across the farming team through clear communication and on-the-ground engagement.
- Research new ideas and techniques — by disseminating scientific literature, getting out to farms, talking to innovators, and attending workshops and events.
Who We’re Looking For
- A degree in biosciences, agriculture, plant science, soil science or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in farming, growing, or horticulture — you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty.
- A scientific mindset with a practical edge — you enjoy working with data and are comfortable working with large datasets and statistical analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills — you can connect with everyone from researchers to field workers.
- A full UK driving licence — you’ll be visiting multiple sites regularly (a company vehicle will be provided).
Why Join Us
This is a rare opportunity to get involved at the leading edge of regenerative agriculture within a large-scale commercial growing operation. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that’s not just trialling change — we’re building the future of food production from the soil up.
