Position Overview: People Inc. is accepting applications for the position of Communications Manager. The Communications Manager serves as the primary point of contact for People Incorporated’s communications activities. The Communications Manager provides community outreach support, manages the agency’s online presence, creates content, manages the creation of the agency’s annual Impact Report, and leads media relations. This position works with the Director of Public Affairs to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy and promotes programs, services, and activities while acting as the media contact across the agency’s Community Action footprint.

Exceptional communication skills: This position requires an ability to communicate with a variety of audiences through many methods. The ideal candidate can adapt their communication style to engage audiences through social media, newsletters, websites, and the news media.
Design abilities: This position requires an experience designing outreach materials and the ability to create collateral consistent with brand and logo usage guidelines. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and/or Microsoft products in the design process is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills: This position includes managing multiple projects and deadlines across departments. The ideal candidate will need to be able to use project management tools to ensure clear processes for communications team projects.
- Flexibility: This position will be expected to travel occasionally to People Inc. offices and programs across the state. This position also requires the ability to sometimes adapt schedule outside of traditional office hours for events and activities.
A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field and four to six years of communications experience. Candidates with an advanced degree or experience with nonprofit communications are preferred.
