ABOUT THE ROLE:
Whilst working as part of the Process team, the Test Operative assists the Front Line Manager in the routine operation of the process area and the control of additive mixtures, according to company procedure.
Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Mixes additives for addition to the product and tests the water in the sugar flumes and blanchers to ensure the quality of the addition is correct
- Assists with the filling and bringing up to temperature of blanchers and Sapp tanks on start-up and assists with other start-up procedures
- Ensures the blancher levels and fryer levels are correct, altering when instructed to do so
- Changes and cleans the fryer’s oil in the canteen, QA and Receiving Departments
- Alters process plant machinery when instructed to do so by the Front Line Manager or control room
- Collects chemicals from Dry Stores when required
- Reports any faults or malfunctions to the Front Line Manager
- Ensures that where appropriate, all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements i.e. safe isolation, start-up check sheets and cleaning records
- Makes sure appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out to AIB Gold Standard and ensures that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met
- Assists with the training of any new operations as required
- Actively participates in all continuous improvement initiatives

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?
The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK?
You\’ll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
