A specialist UK distribution business is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing & Customer Service Assistant to join their successful team in Warrington. In this varied role, you’ll be responsible for managing purchasing tasks, stock control, maintaining supplier relationships, coordinating delivery schedules, and providing excellent customer service.
The company you’ll be joining specialises in explosion-protected electrical products, serving contractors and industrial clients in hazardous environments such as oil & gas, petrochemical, food & beverage, and industrial plants. They take pride in delivering technical expertise and excellent customer service and are part of an impressive, market-leading £1 billion UK distribution group that already employs over 1,700 people across the country.
Role Responsibilities
As a Purchasing & Customer Service Assistant, you will:
- Manage the procurement of products and materials from a range of trusted suppliers and manufacturers
- Monitor and communicate lead times and delivery schedules to customers, keeping them informed at every stage
- Liaise directly with manufacturers to resolve supply issues, track orders, and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring smooth communication between internal teams, suppliers, and clients
