Then look no further… Engineering Design Manager Salary – £40,662 – £50,828 per annum (plus benefits including company car or car allowance) Hours – Full-time, Monday to Friday Location – Northamptonshire, hybrid working with 2/3 days per week at the office As an Engineering Design Manager at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of civil and M&E engineering design within our Engineering and Construction Department. You’ll lead and collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality and safe design solutions that meet regulatory and operational needs. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. Our promise to you – Competitive salary – 25 days’ annual leave (full-time working), plus Bank Holidays – Pension scheme – Life insurance – Discretionary bonus scheme – On-the-job training and progression – Recognition scheme – Refer a friend – Flexible benefits including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership, holiday purchase and many more (where applicable) – Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform What will you be doing? – Producing and reviewing technical deliverables (reports, drawings, calculations, BoQs, specifications) – Ensuring designs comply with CDM 2015, SHEQ policies, and environmental regulations – Leading and supporting junior engineers or technicians – Conducting design risk assessments and integrating safety into all design stages – Co-ordinating with other departments and external consultants to align technical requirements – Contributing to sustainability, value engineering, and constructability considerations – Participating in design reviews, hazard identification sessions, and project meetings – Travelling to project sites and FCCE facilities across the UK What are we looking for? – A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferably MSc or MEng) – Chartered Membership of ICE, IStructE, or a similar professional body – Experience in civil/structural engineering design, ideally within the waste or industrial sectors – Strong understanding of SHEQ, CDM responsibilities, and multidisciplinary project coordination – Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills – Willingness to travel regularly within the UK About us We are FCC Environment, one of the nation’s leading waste and resource management companies.
