Overview

Mechanical Engineer – Programme Manager – Medical Devices – Cambridge. Based in Cambridge, you will be leading several projects. You will mentor junior staff on some projects and take on mechanical design on others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple electro-mechanical medical device projects, including hands-on mechanical design.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; communicate project updates and changes.
  • Work with devices that comply with EN60601 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Develop lifesaving and life-improving medical technologies.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject; medical devices experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing new medical device technologies in current or recent roles.
  • Experience with implantable devices, wearable tech, or similar medical technology adhering to EN60601.
  • Strong understanding of EN60601 and ISO 13485; knowledge of regulatory environments.
  • Advantageous but not essential: master’s degree or PhD.
  • Strong problem-solving hobby or side project is a plus.
