Title: Design/Technical Manager Location: South Wales – Swansea to Cardiff Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 + package Sector: New Build, Residential, Commercial – Main contractor Start Date: ASAP Design/Technical Manager – The Company: Our client is a fast growing and leading South Wales based main contractor with an established reputation wand an excellent pipeline of work. Projects are diverse across residential (apartments and low rise housing) as well as commercial and public sector works, Projects vary from £2m – £20m + and are typically across South Wales from Pembrokeshire to Cardiff. Design/Technical Manager – The Role: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design/Technical Manager to join the team based in Swansea. You will have experience on post contract/construction design management rather than just front end design As a Technical manager you will conduct the day to day management of the Technical Department and will engage with external contractors and consultants to ensure that prioritised architectural and engineering advice is inputted into individual projects, and ensure delivery on time and within budget. Critical to the role is the ownership of planning applications by managing the process. The successful candidate should have good management and leadership skills. The successful candidate will have knowledge of technical issues and a good understanding of Building Regulations / NHBC standards gained within a Technical role. You will have had experience at a similar level with a rmain contractor or developer/ You should possess a relevant qualification (HNC, HND, an appropriate degree or corporate membership of a relevant professional institution). It would be beneficial to have a good contact base within the industry including Local Authority / NHBC contacts, consultants, architects, etc. You will be working across multiple projects in the region – all within South Wales. Projects will be a mix of new build and some refurbishment across sectors including residentila and commercial.
