Job Title: Mobile Engineer Location: Bedfordshire Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (typically 8:00am – 4:00pm, may vary) Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience) Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence (Company van and tools provided) Role Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Mobile Engineer to provide facilities maintenance services across multiple sites in the Midlands region. This hands-on role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of building systems. Key Responsibilities: Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and minor reactive repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general fabric. Diagnose faults and either perform necessary repairs or recommend practical solutions. Travel between multiple sites to support consistent operational standards. Accurately complete maintenance records, job sheets, and digital reports. Adhere to Health & Safety protocols and all relevant legal requirements. Liaise with clients or site contacts to ensure clear communication and service satisfaction. Support and coach onsite in-house teams to promote a collaborative working environment. Candidate Profile: Essential: * Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities engineering, or similar field-based role. * Competency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building fabric tasks. * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. * Ability to interpret technical drawings and use digital maintenance systems. * Self-motivated and capable of working independently. * Effective communication and time management skills. * IT literate, comfortable using mobile devices and maintenance platforms. * Familiarity with CAFM systems such as Concept or similar. * Full UK Driving Licence. * Strong safety and compliance awareness. Desirable: * NVQ Level 2/3 in Building Services, Engineering Maintenance, or a related discipline. * Commercial awareness and a proactive attitude to client service. * Experience in coaching or developing junior team members. Additional Information: This role requires travel between sites; a company van and tools will be provided.
