Overview:

Working alongside experienced internal teams, the candidate will bring a fresh perspective and lead all operational day-to-day aspects of our site. You will build on our current success by leading the operations while collaborating with the wider business team to ensure excellent customer service and achievement of business goals & strategies, ensuring our product remains ‘Everywhere You Look’.

What you’ll be involved in:

The Operations Manager will have tactical responsibility and strategic vision for implementing a forward-thinking production strategy that maximizes efficiency and drives operational excellence, optimizing production levels. You will seek best-in-class production and business practices to meet customer expectations.

You will provide strong leadership that motivates and inspires the operations team to achieve company goals and standards, mentoring staff to develop new skills and leadership practices.

Main responsibilities for this role:

  • Manage, lead, and coach the production team and department leaders to ensure high output and quality.
  • Track succession planning and staff development through appraisals and objectives.
  • Analyze capacity of people, parts, and equipment. Define, acquire, and manage resources to meet commitments and future growth.
  • Create and communicate production plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Develop strategies to improve and grow the business in collaboration with senior management.
  • Maintain key performance indicators and operational excellence aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities within operational plans.
  • Ensure all HS&E requirements are supported and complied with in conjunction with the HS&E Manager.
  • Collaborate with QA on issues and promote a quality-focused mindset.
  • Take full responsibility for production team leaders, operators, stores, and engineering.
  • Engage in customer bids, generate proposals, and ensure operational feasibility of quotes.
  • Act as the point of contact for escalations with customers and suppliers.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Degree qualified with a strong engineering background.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement in production environments.
  • Experience in Defence, Space, Aerospace, Electronics industries is advantageous.
  • P&L experience is beneficial.
  • Operations management and leadership experience in high-tech manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Project management skills and experience delivering business change.
  • Experience with operational excellence tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
