AJ Bell is a fast-growing investment platform business, and we’re looking for a driven Business Development Manager to lead new business growth across the North region. If you’re passionate about investment solutions and enjoy building trusted relationships, this is your opportunity to make an impact in a high-profile, client-facing role.
You will take full ownership of regional planning and business development across the North, driving new investments both off-platform and via AJ Bell Investcentre. Working in close collaboration with our Investments team, regional Business Development Managers, and external platform BDMs, you’ll actively promote and grow the use of AJ Bell Investments (funds, MPS, and PMPS) with adviser firms.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and deliver the regional AJ Bell Investments new business target
- Build and execute an annual business plan including regional marketing campaigns, investment roadshows, and third-party event participation
- Identify and sign up new firms to use AJ Bell Investments within their CIP or fund selection process
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with adviser firms, meeting weekly KPIs
- Conduct regular meetings with top firms and provide quarterly SWOT analyses to drive engagement and identify future opportunities
- Maintain clear and detailed meeting notes and report on inflows/outflows to the Head of Sales
- Collaborate across AJ Bell teams, including Investments, Business Development, Key Accounts, and Platform Sales
- Represent AJ Bell Investments at national sales meetings, internal briefings, and client-facing events
- Stay informed on platform developments and investment proposition enhancements to support client demos and solutioning
- Share best practices and support internal training to upskill colleagues and enhance team performance
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Competence
- Proven experience in a business development or sales role, working with IFA networks
- Strong knowledge of investment platforms, SIPPs, OEICs, MPS, and related products
- Track record of delivering new business and managing adviser relationships
- Established network of adviser firms in the North region
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of AJ Bell Investcentre, investment propositions, and regulatory landscape
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Able to collaborate with internal teams and external third-party BDMs to drive results
- Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a dynamic pipeline
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) -desirable
- IMC qualified or working towards -desirable
- Full UK driving licence
