The Levels School is an independent specialist day school offering high quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties.Our teaching and learning provision would also meet the needs of individuals presenting with a similar learning profile tothosewith dyslexia andotherSpeech and LanguageCommunication difficulties. As a result, many of our students have arange of complex, specific learning, social communication and emotional difficulties.

We are seeking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiasticDriver to work in our thriving co-educational independent specialist day school providing home-school transport to our Etonhurst site.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to mainly transport our students from designated pick up to points to school in the morning and return them at the end of the school day and help to keep our buses/cars in a suitably presentable condition at all times. There may also be a requirement on occasions to transport students and staff for sports events, educational trips, or other events as required for which additional payments will be made.

Candidates should be able to work well with others as an integral part of The Levels School team to assist a seamless operation of our transport needs whilst being confident in their own abilities to be able to work unsupervised when required.

Although successful candidates will be given a regular route they should have a good knowledge of the local area and be able to assist with alternate routes (route learning will be given) when required.

Working hours: 2 – 3 hours in the morning, 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Qualifications:

· Full Category B Driving Licence

· (Any candidates with 6 or more penalty points will not be considered)

· An empathy, knowledge and understanding of the learning differences experienced by our student body

Preferred Qualifications:

· Full Cat D1 driver licence

· A knowledge of EU drivers hours and an understanding of Working Time Directive rules for Mobile Workers

· (Training to gain these qualifications may be available for suitable candidates).
